The Clarence Downey Speed Skating Oval (Oval) will open for the season starting Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 10:15 a.m. Public skating hours are Monday to Thursday from 2:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Oval will also be open December 25 from 12:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Admission is free, and all skating skill levels are welcome to enjoy the 400 metre outdoor oval; speed skates are not necessary. A modern warm-up building provides change rooms, public washrooms, and an area to lace up skates in comfort.
The Oval is closed Fridays and for a Provincial Meet from January 22 to 24, 2016.
The Oval is located on Dudley Street at Avenue R, in the Gordon Howe Complex.
