An update from the Ministry of Environment regarding an injured mule deer in our area:
“Ministry of Environment conservation officers in Saskatoon would like to thank local residents for their calls regarding an injured mule deer doe with a broken back leg reported in the vicinity of Montgomery, 11th Street and Circle Drive.
The deer’s health was assessed by officers last fall, when the animal was first brought to their attention. The deer survived the winter and is fully expected to continue to thrive with the injury. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the deer give birth to a fawn this spring!
We will continue to monitor the deer. If its health changes over time, officers will reassess the situation.
We kindly ask residents to refrain from using the Turn in Poachers and Polluters (TIPP) line to report this animal.”
