Montgomery Place 50th Anniversary – 1946-1996
In 1996 our community celebrated our 50th anniversary with a weekend of gathering, remembering and honouring the roots of our special neighbourhood. A Commemoration Ceremony on September 14, 1996 kicked off a weekend of activity. Bike parades and activities for kids, a History Corner in Trinity United Church, an Open House in Montgomery School (also celebrating its 40th anniversary in September 1996), a Family Dance featuring the Ray Dahlen Band, and a special church service at Trinity United Church on Sunday morning, September 15, 1996 – all contributed to the weekend of celebration.
