Montgomery Place Community Association president Barb Biddle toured a group of walkers through streets and stories of Montgomery Place. The tour supported Jane’s Walk, a movement that encourages exploring neighbourhoods and creating people-friendly cityscapes. The tour on May 5, 2019 ended at the monument and cairn in Montgomery Park.

Combat boots, symbolic of the journey across Canada that many service members made from their homes to the coast and across the Atlantic, are making their way from British Columbia to Nova Scotia in time to commemorate the June 6, 1944 D-Day anniversary.

National Historic Site Plaque Installed – June 28, 2018

On June 28, 2018 the long-awaited National Historic Site plaque was installed in Montgomery Park. The designation of Montgomery Place as a National Historic Site in Canada honours our community’s roots as a veterans’ development following the end of the Second World War in 1945. Today, Montgomery Place is a place “of profound importance to Canada.”
