It was heart-warming to see so many people brave the cold to show gratitude and pay tribute at the Montgomery Place Remembrance Service. Thank you all.

Thank you to the volunteers who cleared the early November snow from the site. We are grateful to members of the 38 Signal Regiment 4 Squadron, and the young people from the 3071 Royal Army Cadets, who attended. Thank you to all those who placed wreaths in gratitude of wartime sacrifice and in honour of peace. And thank you to Lesley Tyler, our faithful trumpet player, for fighting to keep her instrument warm to play for us every year.

We all appreciate our talented neighbourhood crew of cookie-bakers and coffee-makers. Thank you. Thank you to our community church folks at St. David’s Trinity United Church, and to Rev. Bill Unger and to Anne Mathewson for their support. Opening the church for fellowship and the veterans’ slideshow is a warm ending to our outdoor service. Thank you for your hospitality and extra cleaning.

And finally, a heartfelt thank you to the family of Don Leier who attended the ceremony that Don began in 1996. His death is a deep loss for our community.
